Is this dangerous?
« on: July 25, 2007, 10:00:39 PM »
Sometimes my Ipod freezes and it wont even restart with the normal Apple instruction to reset it. I do what i like to call it the "Ghetto style emergency shut off" witch i open my ipod (dont worry my warrenty is out dated) and use a metal to tap the battery wire that connects to my ipod screen (atleast thats what i think it is, the wire is on the bottom left corner) . After that my ipod shuts off then i do what i called "emergency turn up" (because thats the only way to do it) and that is to use the power adapter to boot charge it, after that then my ipod will turn on. Do you guys think that this can cause more damage to the battery or does it not effect it at all?

Who knows, but the reset procedure will *always* work, so this is unnecessary.

Yes the reset procedure always works but it can take a long time
and not always work the first or second time.
