PC not recognizing iRiver h320 after installing RockBox firmware and bootloader?

Hello everyone:

New rockbox/iRiver user here. I just installed the bootloader and rockbox firmware to my new iriver h320, and have encountered two problems:

a) my iRiver is still not booting to rockbox, rather it just boots to iRiver with the one change noted at the bottom of the screen indicating the firmware change from 'US' to 'E'

b) My PC is no longer recognizing my iRiver when I plug it into the USB.

Would appreciate any help at all! I'm completely illiterate as to the ways of rockbox, but after hours upon hours of studying the manual, I'm fairly certain I did everything correctly...

Please help  :'(

Assuming that you are following these installation instructions from our manual:

try re-running step 9.  It sometimes is necessary to flash the firmware twice when upgrading a US player.
