Welcome to the Rockbox Technical Forums!
Just as a note, it's incredibly unlikely these directions will work. What's damaged is in flash, and you can't access the flash from the computer, so any process to repair it would have to involve a h300.hex file and instructing the original firmware to do a firmware upgrade.
I see that you just posted this same question at Mistic River, which is actually what I was going to suggest to you. I suspect that not many of the people here at the Rockbox forums care much about whether the H300 supports DRM, and you're much more likely to find someone at Mistic River to test this. Though I agree with Llorean that it's a long shot at best.

You can't flash the device after you've installed rock box?
I'm not asking rock box to support DRM. I'm asking you to keep the original firmware intact.
I'm not asking rock box to support DRM. I'm asking you to keep the original firmware intact. At best I was hoping originally, that you would find a way to work around damaging the firmware. but there doesn't seem to be any motivation to put the work that entails. Who knows, someone still me kick in and put the metal to the pedal and try to accomplish it yet.what I'm hoping for now is to find some way of removing rock box and restoring the US firmware with its DRM capabilities.
No. What Llorean is saying is that the directions you posted do not contain any step that involves re-flashing firmware, and so it is difficult to see how they would work.
