hello!

today i listened to some music, stopped playback, turned the payer off, turned it on again and then rockbox was "scanning disk". i mean.. it didnt take too long, actually..
but what kind of rule is there in disk scanning?
something like "every third time on boot" ? or is there a setting for this?

LambdaCalculus:
I get this on my iPod as well. Seems to mostly happen after I connect it to my PC to transfer files to it.

I wouldn't worry about it unless it starts taking far too long to complete.

stuffedspacedog:
if you have directory caching set to "on", it will do this after a USB connection to see if files have changed.

You can turn it off, but it will make file browsing more sluggish.

Menu>Settings>General Settings>System>Disk>Directory Cache

LambdaCalculus:
How silly of me... I completely forgot I had it set on.  ::)

polluxx2006:
hey guys,

it makes sense after usb connection, yes.
but not after listening to music and turning it off - and on again.
and i didnt delete, rename or anything like that....
