1) There's nothing called a "booter." Please be specific and use the same terms as the manual so we have some clue what you're talking about. Do you mean the bootloader is giving an error message when you boot up, or is ipodpatcher giving an error message?

2) There's no mention of a "root file" in the manual. It specifically says to the root of the device. This means directly to the device, not in any folders.

If you're getting error messages, we require that you tell us the specific error message so that we actually know what's happening. We're not psychic.

Just extract Rockbox.zip straight onto your player. That's all there is to it. You don't "put" .rockbox anywhere. The manual doesn't say to put the folder anywhere. Please tell me, what instructions are you following that make you think you need to do something other than extracting rockbox.zip straight to your player?

If your iPod is F:\, then extract to F:\

It's that simple.

Your iPod needs to be in disk mode. How did you copy any Rockbox files to it if it doesn't show up as a drive, as the manual says it needs to be in disk mode?

Perhaps you should simply get some sleep, and then try re-reading the appropriate sections of the manual when you're well rested and able to think clearly.
