M5L- Root folder?

Is the root fplder the folder titled "system"?    

If so then i have no idea why rockbox isnt working, i installed the boot loader and it was fine, then i extracted firmware to system folder. when i boot up my m5  get error message saying file not found.

The manual says "root of your player’s drive", and makes no mention of extracting it into a folder.

Just the drive itself, not in any of the folders already on the drive.
