Escape Pod AA
« on: July 19, 2007, 06:24:15 PM »
The Escape Pod AA theme has the progress bar in the wrong location with recent builds despite having the required font.  Does anyone know why?

Thank you.

Are you absolutely sure it's the right font?  Try this, replace the background with the background for the regular Escape Pod without the album art.  If it fits on that one then you don't have the right font.  I believe the regular Escape Pod uses the font as is from svn and Escape Pod AA uses that other one that is distributed in some themes.

Edit: to be perfectly clear, replace the background for the WPS found in the EscapePod AA directory in the WPS directory.

Edit: If that works for you what you could do is a little minor moving around with the WPS moving the disk activity image over and manually adding the code to display the sleep image for that background.

Well, I am absolutely sure that I downloaded the correct font, the very one that is linked from the Escape Pod AA description (the Font Pack).  I installed only this theme and the font pack on top of a fresh build of Rockbox, so it wasn't accidentally getting the wrong version of the same font from a different theme or anything.

HOWEVER - the issue is with the font after all.  I experimented with different fonts, and any that have "14" in the name seem to be the right size for this theme.

So, I'm guessing the "wrong" version of the helvR12 font ended up in the font pack or something.

I will try the test you indicate, but since it now works if I just use a different font than the one the theme tries to use by default, it's perhaps less important.

Thanks for the reply.  I'll let you know if I discover more.

OK, it definitely is a font issue.  There are at least three different version of helvR12!  I downloaded all the themes I could find which use this font, and tried them all.  One is much larger than the rest which all looked the same, except  one which was called helvR12-L1.fnt, and this is the one that seemed to work.  Anyway, if the person who developed Escape Pod AA reads this (that you tdtooke?), please consider including the appropriate font with the theme.  Nice theme though!  Worth the effort...

No, I didn't design it, it is a pretty cool theme though.  I have noticed that there is some confusion surrounding helvR12 with different themes.
