Help Needed Urgently

(1/1)

eibell05:
Hey

I'm using a MacBook and I was trying to follow the instructions to install RockBox but I have went a bit wrong. I accidently skipped the stage where I am meant to install the firmware but instead installed the bootloader first using the iPod Patcher. Now when I turn my iPod on I get this message:

Rockbox boot loader
Version: 1.1
IPOD version: 0xFFFFFFFF
TOSIHBA MK3008GAL
No partition found
Hold MENU+SELECT to reboot
then SELECT+PLAY for disk mode

My MacBook does not pick up the iPod when I connect it and neither does my Windows PC.

Is there any way to completely erase my iPod now?

Help would be greatly appreciated

Llorean:
See the part that says "Hold MENU+SELECT to reboot then SELECT+PLAY for disk mode." If you do that, you can reboot it into disk mode (hold MENU+SELECT then when the screen clears immediately hold SELECT+PLAY). Once in disk mode you can do the steps you skipped.

It's a good idea to read instructions very carefully when putting alternative firmware on gadgets. In the case of other players you might have permanently disabled the device by following the directions incorrectly.
