My Battery is always exhausted...

(1/1)

urbanfractal:
Hi there!

I have a H10 6GB and have installed the latest daily Build.

I use the Sennheiser HD477 Closed Headphones http://reviews.cnet.com/headphones-headsets/sennheiser-hd-477/4507-6468_7-20145895.html?tag=nav

I know they probably use up a lot of energy, but the battery empties in about 1 hour or less some times. The settings are all @ default, no crossfading enabled and to 5sec Backlight duration.

The Battery level is lessened even when I unplug it from the USB and the energy seems to be drained, even while it is switched off; when I turn it back on the battery level is always much lowered.

I was wondering if it goes into standby rather than switching-off entirely, tried unplugging the Headphones and even took out the battery but to no avail. The Battery is still drained when I switched it back on.

Is there a way I could see if my battery has just worn out or if that's the way it's going to be from now on with the given Headphones and Rockbox BIOS?

Thanks!

One decent test would be to see what sort of battery life you get under the same conditions using the original firmware.

urbanfractal:
By "testing" you mean running a specific benchmark application or something like that, or just use it normally to test the duration?

GodEater:
Well, you've said you're getting ~1 hour when using it.

What I'm suggesting is that you choose a set of tracks, listen to them under the original firmware, and see how much life you get out of the battery.

Then repeat the test, using the exact same tracks under Rockbox, and see what the difference in battery life is.
