If it's still messed up, either your computer is too slow to handle conversion,

/me is proof that no computer is too slow to handle conversion.

Llorean:
No, the link in the post above you has sample files. This link has detailed instructions: http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/PluginMpegplayer

ComposerDude:
That's the link I gave you, SataniK. I hope it goes well.

Soap: Don't laugh... I have a 300 Mh cpu with 400 ram on my linux box. Hence the seeming personal knowledge that if a compy's too slow, it won't convert. Or, if I play with it , it'll sit there for 4 days locked up while converting. Ok, you can laugh now.

SataniK: You may have read my post before i edited it, my apologies for the "post above me" directions.

tata,

I have used WinFF (the frontend for ffmpeg) on a Windows 2000 box that is only 133mhz.

SataniK:
Actually Llorean if I click on this link http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/PluginMpegplayer#Elephants_Dream the I click on Elephants Dream I am taken here http://orange.blender.org/ Which would actually be the main site for the movie.

ComposerDude I have both VLC and WinFF I am sure that my Windows Media Player has everything needed to the files, as I use it every day.  I think that the problem was I was going to the wrong link I will try this again and give you an update
