MPEG Player Does not show my movie file?

<< < (7/9) > >>

SataniK:
Sorry for the double post in advance.  OK I downloaded the entire Elephants Dream movie select in my Win FF converter iPod 16:9 converted it and took that .mpg and put it in my video folder on the root of my iPod then went into the file browser and tried to play it.  It looked like it was going to play the screen went black for just a second and then it went back to the menu...  What gives?

Llorean:
Does the Elephants Dream provided by us that's already the right resolution work for you?

SataniK:
Llorean it turns out the movie does not even play on computer.  I tried your link it took me to the elephants dream site so I tried to download it and the only one that worked was a torrent.  No big deal I downloaded the torrent and it downloaded as a .avi file and it does not play when it is on my computer.  What is the deal?

Llorean:
I don't believe I gave you a link anywhere, and I know that I didn't give you a link to the official elephant's dream site. You're supposed to be using the files we provide for testing.

If there's a link it's http://download.rockbox.org/mpeg/

ComposerDude:
SataniK: If I were in your shoes, I would follow these couple of steps as a rule of thumb...

Fro the purpose of trouble-shooting, make sure you have the elephabt's dream from the mpegplayer page.
Determine if your installed media player has all necessary codecs.
Give up on that, and download VLC player here and install.
Try playing it again in VLC.
If it's still messed up, either your computer is too slow to handle conversion, or you need to make sure that either WinFF or the VLC .bat file are configured properly. The link above for mpegplayer has detailed instructions on how to use both VLC and WinFF.

Hope it goes well, fellow traveler.
