MPEG Player Does not show my movie file?
SataniK:
Good news got the video on there and it plays whoo hoo! I have some frame rate issues do you guys recommend anything to help with that?
One last thing and this is kind of big. When I put the video on there and tried to disconnect I received an error message saying it was in use and could not disconnect but I knew it was not in use so I unplugged it, no harm done to the iPod and the video played but my computer got a blue error screen and instantly restarted itself. Is there a "safer" way to do this?

Again, you have failed to answer previous questions (did you use the the presets.xml file?) and you have not explained what your framerate issues actually are. Until you do, help is extremely difficult to give.

How did you know it was not in use? Sometimes file transfers have a delayed write to an external drive due to buffering/caching. You were lucky not to damage your iPod's file system.
The safer way is to try the disconnect again and wait until it says it is safe to disconnect.
SataniK:
Yes I inserted the presets.xml file into the winff converter folder. I and my frame rate issues seem to be the audio is off and sometimes the video is a little skippy in some parts.
I knew it was not in use because my file transfer had gone but I let it have its moment and I waited and waited but still no change so that is when I decided to just go ahead and unplug it. The file transfered as I though but my computer errored out and restarted its self

Ok, so now you should not have to select MPEG-2, correct? You are just selecting your player from the drop-down and letting it convert without any other intervention?
If so, they should play correctly. What are your MPEGPlayer settings?
Another question of mine you did not answer:
--- Quote from: bascule on July 18, 2007, 01:26:25 AM ---Does the Elephant's Dream video work for you?
--- End quote ---
SataniK:
Yeah the video plays fine on my ipod just the audio is off now. Elephants Dream links don't work so sorry I don't know and what are good general settings for playing video I screwed around with mine and have not gotten it running smoothly. I have a question do you recommend using the original iPod firmware for watching video. I think that getting it to work is not the issue but do you believe that is as good or better than the original one?
