30 GB Apple Ipod Installing themes problem.

(1/3) > >>

SataniK:
Hey guys I am new to all this and I got a lot of the things on here I wanted except for a theme I cannot get that to work.

I am trying to install the Ajant Orange 5g theme.
It looks to me that it does not require any patches
When I put it in my directory and run the fonts come up correctly, but the backdrop it just comes up as a solid color black and not the graphic as it should, and the player just stays that same black color when ever I play a song and it does not have all the "bells and whistles" as shown in the pictures.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance for the help!

LambdaCalculus:
Did you unzip the file to the right location? The theme's zip file should have a /.rockbox folder in it with all of the required files in the right folders. All you do is drop it into the root folder and that's it.

And I know it's irrelevant, but where did you download the theme from? Was it from http://www.rockbox-themes.org or from this site?

SataniK:
Well I know I take that zipped folder and put what is inside into the root of my ipod which I did but the theme is not turning out right.  And I did not get my theme off of that page but I see it on there.  Does it have anything to do with the fact that I installed the tango icons?

I believe this theme has some syntax errors in the code of the "While Playing Screen" which makes it fail now. Rockbox will change everything else that comes with the theme (backdrop, font) but will only display the default wps. The theme once worked but since then the wps parser got stricter and doesn't tolerate these errors anymore.
I remember that someone already asked about this one in IRC, I looked at the code and found at least 2 errors but those weren't all. The one in the channel then decided to use something else and so no-one bothered fixing it so far.

LambdaCalculus:
I haven't used this theme for a few months now, so I didn't know about these problems.

If it's any small help, I have the Blue variation still sitting in my iPod, so I can see if maybe I can clean up the WPS code so it'll comply with the parser again.

SataniK: if I may make a suggestion on a theme for now, try out DOSblue. It's clean, elegant, and displays nearly all of the info you could want.
