MpegPlayer bug than crash
« on: July 14, 2007, 03:10:58 PM »
Hello !
I tried MpegPlayer, so i've encoded a long video (2h) with vlc in mpg. But when the Ipod reads, I can see a lot of problems in the images (looks like that : http://img337.imageshack.us/img337/4712/image12nx0.jpg ). And MpegPlayer only reads about 10minutes of my movie. Elephants dream, downloaded from RockBox website, works, but there are image problems too (like the first movies). So Elephants Dream is ridden from start to end, but with image problems.

Thanks !
And sorry for my english, but I'm French ;)

It's really hard to tell from that picture what is 'Rockbox video' problem and what is 'poor camera shot' problem.

Does the video encoding match the requirements given in http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/WebHome?topic=PluginMpegplayer

Thanks for your awnser.
Yes, I converted my video from this tutorial, with VLC. The video works very well on my computer. (I don't know how to explain you better). Sometimes, the video works at start on the Ipod...

Thanks. If you want other informations, I'm here ;)

Bye!

Ton anglais n'est pas mal.  C'est plus bon de mon francais.  But yes this is a serious issue with rockbox.  Videos not rebuffering is quite annoying.

What makes you think videos aren't rebuffering?

The most likely problem here is simply the same problem that's affecting a number of Nano owners right now.
