Are you sure the file has the proper filename? Browse to the location in Rockbox, with file display set to all, and see what the filename shows up as.

I've just realised the font I viewed my config file in was less than ideal, so the content I've given above is wrong - there are no spaces in it. The correct format should be :

file version: 1
Show FPS: No
Limit FPS: Yes
Skip frames: Yes

I didn't realise you could get fonts that were missing the [space] glyph  ;D ;)

I've tried recreating the file (using text editor plugin) with spaces after the colons and now I'm staring really hard at the properties for the file trying to see a spelling mistake:

File properties
 Path: /.rockbox/rocks/
 Name: mpegplayer.cfg
 Size: 57B
 Date: 2007/07/19
 Time: 12:15

I know. That's just me typing it out again, but that's exactly what it says.

Just a thought. Could there be a problem with the firmware version? I'm using 1.29k.
