Cannot connect iPod to computer

Hi, I did a search for this on the forums and didn't find anything.

I just recently installed Rockbox on my 30 GB iPod video. I didn't encounter any problems until I went to reconnect it to my computer to add more music. While in Rockbox it just sat there. I tried restarting, but it simply went back to Rockbox's main menu. I then booted into Disk mode, which didn't even give me a "Do not disconnect" message, jumping straight to "OK to disconnect" every time. It is not detected by my computer, and I have to hard reboot it every time as sits there frozen after I unplug it.

Any suggestions?

If you're using Windows or MacOS X with iTunes, did you enable disk use in iTunes first?

As silly as it sounds, it helps.

adanufgail:
I'm using Windows, and...I'm not sure I have iTunes installed. The iPod itself isn't recognized at all by Windows, almost as if I never plugged it in.

LambdaCalculus:
You'll have to download iTunes, then. You don't need to use it to sync music to your iPod now, since Rockbox allows drag-and-drop, but you at least need it to enable disk use and to restore your iPod if ever need be.

adanufgail:
I did just install it, but I can't seem to find the Enable Disk Usage option. If it's on the screen with the iPod information, I can't get to it as iTunes (like Windows) can't see the iPod at all.
