vak01 makes a good point (One I myself noticed from my first posts).

Anybody who thinks the answers they get to their questions are jerky should reread their question.  In all likelihood they are being the jerk.

Thats true.

In balancing this out however, its unwise to accept your always in the wrong.

People should learn from an early age to politely and sensibly challenge authority IF they truely believe they have been mistaken or have any qualms about the way they are being spoken to.

We are all only humans after all.

Which is why I always (er, most of the time, I should say) hedge my bets with phrases such as "In all likelihood" and "most of the time" :)

Really, though, I cannot recall an unjustified "jerk" response from anybody here with more than, say 50 posts.

bascule said: "We are not gearing up for an IPO here! This project is not for profit, it's probably not even for recognition and respect, it was started by a couple of guys who were fed up with the poor quality of the OF on their Archos machines. There is no drive for any defined progression nor any definition of 'success'. "

I personally find that hard to believe. Not IPO? ok, I believe. Not Profit? Possible. Not for recognition or respect? Hmm, that would place you guys well on your way to Buddhahood!

Anyway, whatever the sentiments I may have expressed, and whatever the motivations for keeping Rockbox going, the fact is that it beats proprietary software hands down, and I love it. Thanks guys.
