Cant see music file at all in Sansa e260

Hi

I just installed the Rockbox two days ago , and i cant view my music file from the "Files" and the database not seem to finish building the database ever..

I tried many things suggested in this forum but none help me..

To see your music fro the file browser you can go into settings>general settings>file view> show files> all
Just browse to your music files from there but if they are not showing with the default settings they may not be supported and therefore may not play.

As for the database not initializing i found that if you make ANY settings changes (using themes, changing colors, fonts etc.) before initializing then the database will either not initialize or take a really really really long time. If you just initialize it from the start it only takes about two or three minutes for me...

This is because the OF have this annoying habit of hiding the "music" directory (folder). You have 2 choices. You can either set Rockbox to show all files which clutters up the file browser. A better solution is to unhide the "music" directory from your computer and rename it to something else. The OF will search for audio files in all directories, but it will only hide the "music" directory.

I cant unhide or rename music folder i think its protected..
i have tried before to use the show all but even then i only see folders and no music i have check that there is music on i i have like 100+ songs.

this is a frash install and i didnt change any theme.

i dont know what want worng..

Did you try doing it from your file manager on your computer? Which Operating System are you running?

yes i tired to do this form the pc and i have win xp

Have you tried Properties> Then at the bottom there are some options "Read only" "Archive" "Hide". Are any of those selected?
if they are not and you have backups of your files i would suggest just deleting the music folder and creating a new one with your music in it.

i dont have this otions in my sansa rockbox.. and i tired to create more folders with music and put a music file on the root folder its simpley dont show it..

No the Properties thing i told you was to be done in xp. right click on the music folder.
