Archos 504 or a Rockbox'd 80gb video Ipod?

I am getting about 9 hrs on RB and 23-25hrs on ipod firmware

When I had a Sony D-555 I was lucky to get about 2 hours of play and no anti skip was available.  It's reported by the WPS that I'm supposed to get about 4h 49m. That's using a day old build and using .OGG exclusively but I have yet to run the battery out so I really don't know how long it  lasts -- I do know it's hours and more than I can use in an evening's worth of listening.  So for me, the current implementation of Rockbox gives me plenty of time.
Having said that, what documentation is missing (I don't know what anyone has)? Â Is it a single chip datasheet?, Â All of the datasheets? Developer's kit? All of the above? Â Some of these "one chips solutions" are incredibly complex and have features no one even knows about or utilizes. Â For example, one popular video deinterlacing chip has a built in set of TV test patterns! Â Those test patterns, to the best of my knowledge, have never been implented in a consumer device -- yet there they sit, just waiting for the proper instruction/bit to be set.

Ignore that, it is uncalibrated for iPods and currently meaningless.

All of it. There is no public portal player documentation. All progress has been made by using sheets for similar but different chips, reverse engineering etc. That is why on my H140 rockbox gets more battery life than the OF in addition to all the extra features, yet on iPods it is much shorter.
