Okay, one last qiestion...  Now that everything is working, all I need to do to update the current s/w is to replace the contents of the .rockbox folder contents with the current build data, right?  It's that simple?

bascule:
Yes, you unzip the latest build to the player root as you did on the first install.

You must do all files, however, otherwise there will be undesired effects and possible plugin failures/lock-ups etc.

Yep, I hit 40 gb and really needed extra space.  Found a 60 gb drive at a decent price and put it in.  A bit nerve-wracking to do the first time but, in the end, no more difficult than putting a purchased hard drive into a hard drive enclosure--open it up (be careful with the screws)--unplug the old--plug in the new--close it up--and format with SwissKnife.  The guides at Misticriver.net were great in that regard.

Okay, I get the idea HOWEVER...  The first time I did the unzip/install to my iRiver, it failed to name the unzip dir correctly; it named the dir without the leading dot, hence my question about being able to unzip and copy.  I would image that it will ask me and I can just tell it to go the the dot-rockbox dir, but I just wanted to check.  It's working very well and I would hate to screw the pooch for lack of understanding about this.  Computers are no sweat, but this little tune box has me "On Guard", as it were.

Thanks for everything-
