flashing circle next to time in status bar - what is it?

i have a little circle with a line though it flashing up next to the time in my status bar.. what does this mean? there doesnt seem to be a mention of it in the (sansa) rockbox manual under the Status Bar section. I seem to have broken my 3rd pair of sony fontopias (one earbud is giving me no sound today) - has rockbox picked this up and its trying to warn me? What is it lassie, broken headphones? lol
