Problems with Sansa's latest build

(1/1)

Vortex:
Hi everyone,

I just updated to the latest build where it said "Enable frequency scaling on the Sansa. Thanks to Jens Arnold's improvements, it seems stable.".

Unfortunately I'm unable to boot this version. After the bootloader I'm stuck with a black screen (and blue scrollwheel) where usually the Rockbox logo would appear and I have to hold Power for 15 seconds to turn the player off.

I can still boot the Original Firmware without problems.

I tried to delete the .rockbox folder on my player and copy just the latest release onto the player, but it gets stuck as well.

Any ideas?

EDIT: Found this on the anythingbutipod forums:

--- Quote ---I suggest you do not update yet, due to the divide by zero trap being added, which is causing the Sansa to error out on boot. Apparently, the line that causes the divide by zero error on boot is in firmware/drivers/fat.c, but I can't confirm.
--- End quote ---

saratoga:
Pretty sure thats not due to frequency scaling.  At least I've booted a couple dozen times with it enabled and never had a crash.

Alright, I changed the thread topic

ChiefAlex:
Hi had the same Problem.
I downloaded the build with "Enable frequency scaling on the Sansa. Thanks to Jens Arnold's improvements, it seems stable." as the latest SVN activity. When I copied it on the Sansa, Rockbox didn't started. The orginal firmware startet normal and i put an older build on the sansa, after this, Rockbox was able to boot again.

ChiefAlex:
okay, I downloaded the latest build (2007-07-10 07:41) and now rockbox boots normally. everything seems to be fine.
