Your "Bad Checksum" Error looks to me to indicate that your download of rockbox.zip is corrupted, or that the unzip process to your ipod got interuppted. Download the rockbox.zip again, and re-unzip it to your ipod. All should be well once you've done this :)

If you read carefully, he downloaded the iPod Color build, not the iPod Video build. ;) see "IPCO" in the bootloader output.

I'm going to plead "never seen an ipod colour boot before" so didn't know that - and I've never looked at my own boot screen long enough to see what it says more model there.
