Car Adapter Mode
« on: July 05, 2007, 10:30:25 AM »
Hi, i mainly use my mp3 player in the car, i just leave it in the glove box lol. But im thinking of getting a new mp3 player soon as my H120 is getting pretty beaten up.

Is there a list of models that currently support car adapter mode? So i can pick an mp3 player from that list.

For the players that dont have this feature, how long does it usually take for a feature to spread to all players?

Thanks.

Er, you understand that car adapter mode simply puts the playing player into pause when it is disconected from power, and then simply starts the player again when power is reapplied (assuming power is in fact reapplied--otherwise, the player shuts off in a few minutes), right?

I don't know that I would choose a player for that feature, but I guess we all have certain needs.

;)

Note that car adapter mode was causing iRiver Hxxx and other players to freeze (requiring a hard reset) in last month's builds and builds from mid-May or so on (there are 2 bug reports on this)--I haven't heard that this has been fixed, yet (but I also haven't updated the firmware in 3-4 weeks or so).

I wasn't aware that the feature did not work correctly at the present time. I don't use it as my cigarette lighter in my new car is broken. It will be fixed in time though right? This is pretty much all i use my mp3 player for as i don't like carrying around a brick.

I guess it will be fixed (if still broken) if and when someone gets to it/wants to turn to it.

In the meanwhile, you just need to put your player in pause "manually."
