file transfer

(1/1)

moonstar:
so I got rockbox installed on my 80g ipod successfully.  :D

I reformatted my computer but before doing so I backed up a few folders onto my ipod which I later put back on my computer and was successfully done. heres the but...turns out I have family pictures stored onto my ipod which I can not drag to the desktop, and was put on my ipod by iTunes before I reformated my computer. It looks as if iTunes put the pictures under Ipod:\Photos\Thumbs

the files that are in the Thumbs folder look like "F1019_1.ithmb"  ???

I now want to transfer these picutres from my ipod to my computer and if i go into the directory of my ipod I can not find the pictures, yet I can view them with the apple firmware.

I have already tried to use iTunes to see if I can transfer the pictures that way, but without success.

I am not a person who is easily panicked but I am at this moment for I have high school graduation pictures on my Ipod.  so I am hoping someone has the answer to this apple disaster :-[

GodEater:
As much as this isn't the answer you want to hear :

1) This is nothing to do with installing Rockbox
and
2) Is nothing to do with Rockbox at all.

This is the wrong place to ask in other words.

moonstar:
you couldn't be helpful at the very least?

Llorean:
Most of us don't use iTunes or the Apple software. We didn't write it. We didn't make it do what it did. We don't know how it works. Ask Apple. They wrote the software. They know how it works. I'm honestly confused why you expect a forum that is for Rockbox only to have any help for you. Not only that, but you posted a non-installation question in the installation area showing that you had no interest in following our guidelines.

I'm not sure why you want help from a group of people that you haven't really showed a lot of respect toward in the first place.

We aren't experts in that software, so even if we could help, you would get better help somewhere else. But since it's entirely off topic, you've basically provided spam in our forums, essentially equivalent to asking for help using Windows Media Player on Vista in a Linux forum. They both run on computers, but just because people in the Linux forum own computers doesn't mean they expect to be asked about *any* computer question.
