Won't auto enter disk mode on Mini 2g with latest build

i wasn't complaining about the process of manually setting the ipod to disk mode - simply curious as to why a listed feature of Rockbox was no longer working. Putting it into disk mode manually is like having a remote control but still getting up off your arse to change TV channels....

is http://forums.rockbox.org/index.php?topic=9147.0 the cause of my problem? The way i read that thread, I can only get my ipod to boot Apple if I use an old build of rockbox (until the COP-enabled bootloader is released)... and that means no automatic disk mode switching until then, right?!
