Won't auto enter disk mode on Mini 2g with latest build

I just upgraded to today's build (r13772M-070703) and since then my ipod won't automatically switch to disk mode when I connect the USB lead. Rockbox displays the image of a USB plug on screen but then seems to power off. The only thing I can do is to reboot (holding Menu & Select) then hold Select & Play to force disk mode.

If I replace Rockbox with an earlier build (r12717-070311) it works again.

Can someone please tell me what could be wrong? Also, why is the rockbox.ipod file now inside the .rockbox dir when it was in root before?

Apart from this, the build seems to work fine

GodEater:
Can't help you with the USB / disk mode issue - but the rockbox.ipod file has been inside the .rockbox folder for a LONG time now...

Rockbox not automatically booting into disk mode on Ipods is a known problem that occurs in some builds, I experienced it too during only 2 weeks I used a borrowed Mini. There doesn't even have to be a code change between the working and a broken build (or at least none obviously related one). Unfortunately no-one's figured out yet what causes it, so that it could be fixed. For the time being you can only upgrade from time to time and hope that specific build is not affected or just manually boot into disk mode.

Thanks for that. At least it's not just me. I'll stick with my old build for now then.

It's really a simple matter to put the player in disk mode manually before connecting to USB, or to flip the hold switch on so that when you plug into USB, it boots the Apple firmware and then enters the Apple disk mode.
