Sansa e250 freezes on startup

I've noticed that all the builds (official or unofficial) I've tried since June 27/07 keep freezing at the Rockbox splash screen on startup. I've tried deleting config.cfg and various other files, including deleting the whole rockbox directory and doing a clean install. I did notice this with a couple of unofficial builds before June 27th, but the current official build (and my own build) still worked. Now no new builds work. Any thoughts?

By the way, how do you find out the version of your bootloader? It is being displayed when I boot the Original Firmware but it disappears quickly...

Just reboot a few times and read a little bit at a time.

A couple people on the anythingbutipod forum
(http://www.anythingbutipod.com/forum/showthread.php?t=16782) mentioned that it might be related to the micro SD patch (which is now included in SVN), where the Sansa will hang on bootup unless a micro SD card has been inserted (I don't have one to insert). I think this is likely true since the unofficial builds I tried that didn't work all had the micro SD patch, and the working builds didn't. I haven't done any experiments to confirm this, but the initial evidence supports the hypothesis.
