funkandroid:
a co-worker of mine recently aquired an ipod nano and i offered to upload some music to it for him... little did i know it had this "rockbox" software installed. anyway my question is how do upload songs from my mac onto it? do i need rockbox software for my comp as well? i just dont even know where to begin. thanks for your help guys

Raineer:
Shouldn't need anything special at all.  I do *not* know macs, but it will show up just like a normal USB storage device. There is no magic place to store music on it either, I just literally dragged my "My Music" folder right to it (in the root directory, doesn't have to go into ".rockbox")

When he boots up after that, he can initialize the database through settings and it will scan for all music on the device.

funkandroid:
its not plugged in via usb, its plugged into some port that the ipod usually plugs into, though when i open i tunes it doesnt even register...

Chronon:
Uh, the port that the nano normally uses is a USB port.  And he didn't say anything about using iTunes.  Just browse to your music library and drag and drop files from your HD onto the iPod.  In other words, just pretend that it's a USB thumb drive.

funkandroid:
guess ill have to get a ipod usb cable huh?
