Sorry if i'm stealing somebody's thunder but i've been working on this thing for a month. It's not quite finished, i'm still waiting on a patch for the custom wps line build for track time and color, the font will change and i'll have time posted at the top. there are some cool animations (i actually had a coverflow animation but the image buffer was too small). Full screen album art wasnt going to happen in a rectangle so i just used the coverflow. Here's what i've got so far- should have it finished in the next few days. I'm also working on a 100x100 album art version (let me know if you think that is neccessary). i would have used the volume bar at the bottom but that as well filled up the buffer and so the volume is shown using the bars at the top left (If anyone thinks that it is REALLY IMPORTANT to have that let me know). Let me know what you think so far...

  PERFECT almost. very nice, check like 3 posts down, was just looking for this. you almost nailed it, it would be better if the time bar was at the bottom.

Yes...but then it would be even less accurate towards the actual wps.

Did you see the topic on up to 512 WPS images?  Not sure, but that might solve some of your problems.  Other than that it looks amazing.  Nice work.

Yes, it was discussed http://forums.rockbox.org/index.php?topic=11289.0 but unfortunately the buffer size was a wee bit too small for what i was looking at.

It's looks good, but try this: using the Nimbus font; and making a iPhone-based rockbox menu, in addition to just the wps screen.

Alright i've narrowed it down to two backdrops. It's really the same thing but the bottom bar just dissapears behind the icons in one. (using custom list pos).

     

I also would like your opinion yes/no on the statusbar? And i want to run by the idea to also include a second wps in the theme that is a cover flow?

In my opinion, the first one is more defined, but the second one holds closer to the iPhone style.  Also, would it not be possible to drop the icon bar in the first one a pixel or two down to add a bit of balance to the spacing between the bottom and the menus?  Lastly, although the statusbar is out of place, its usefulness outweighs the loss of style.  It looks great!

Alright, thanks for the suggestions. I'm having some troubles displaying text with the first wps. I've decided to use a 100x100 album art version and i'll update that soon. But here is another wps i'm including in the theme. It's supposed to be like the landscape orientation cover flow of the iphone. I'm making another menu/browser screen to go with this and i'll post it soon.

whoa! the WPS looks good! And as for the Menu system, i'd go for the first menu, but cut down the size of the buttons bar a tiny bit: it's a little too close to the scroll menu. Or put them as grey-coloured buttons, and when you select an option, they light up.

Looking forward to this WPS. Does the coverflow really flow or is it just for show?

well for the first theme i actually had a coverflow animation that would have shown during track changes and seeking. Unfortunately it overflowed the buffer. So, no.

Ok, here are the more or less completed versions of the theme. The second "cover flow" is actually complete. I'm still having text display issues with the normal (the one i posted first) wps. The text will display but the current/remaining track time is never updated unless you go out of the wps and back in. Also, when trying to display the time at the top AM or PM will show but not the time. My first guess was that the screen was just not being re-drawn but i dont think that is correct.





The first wps uses the custom x/y coordinates/color, multifont/multifontuserfonts, scrolling margins, album art and bmp re-size.
The second uses only album art, bmp re-size and scrolling margins.
Both themes use the multifont/userfonts patches and custom list position. If anybody has any idea about the problems with the first wps please let me know! Feedback!
