Gigabeat landscape layout

(1/2) > >>

achkars:
Hi all,

I'm pretty new to rockbox, so please indulge me...

The original Gigabeat software had an option that allowed a landscape layout (with the gigabeat being horizontal or rotated 90 degrees so the buttons are on the to the right of the screen).

I've seen an option in the config files to flip the screen around (so the gigabeat is upside down).

Is there any option or patch that will allow me to get a landscape layout with the screen rotated and the buttons remapped?

Thanks for the help!

Steph

Did you actually look? I've just searched Flyspray using your phrase 'Gigabeat landscape' as the search term, and there it was:

http://www.rockbox.org/tracker/task/6688?histring=Gigabeat%20landscape

Just don't come back with 'but how do I apply it?...'. the answer to that, too, can be found by searching the forums or, better, the Wiki.

Thanks for the info, I hadn't seen the patch search...
Could have gone without the attitude though.  I'm not an idiot, just new to this place.

Have a good one
Steph

markun:
The patch has a serious limitation in that it make rockbox always use landscape mode. A more flexible solution requires a lot more work, but now that we also have the Sansa, the chance is a bit bigger that someone will feel like doing it.

Chronon:
It is possible to compile a new bootloader that selects a rotated or non-rotated build depending on keypress at startup (e.g. EvilG's Gigabeat build).
