bootloader on iriver h10(confused)

ok i have an iRiver h10 20gb and here are some questions i have: i've read the manual many times and i still need some answers

1.)do you put the bootloader you download on the player and then rename that one or do you rename the original and then put the one you download on it?

2.)how do you find the system folder on the player?

3.)how long is the battery life useing rockbox?
 
i know that may be alot of questions
please some one help

You rename the original, and  then put the downloaded file on the player.  That's why renaming the orginal is listed as step 3 in the Manual, and copying the downloaded file is listed as step 4.

Set your operating system to show hidden files and folders.  In Windows XP, this is under Tools --> Folder Options --> View --> Advanced Settings.

To answer your third question, the wiki reports about 5 hours, but I did a battery benchmark with settings to turn off the backlight after ten seconds, and shut down the LCD ten seconds after that, and was able to get about 10 hours of battery life.
