Gigabeat F40: another system error 00000001

(1/1)

soundtravels:
Well I need help too...but my problem is a bit different.

Yesterday I updated Rockbox on my Gigabeat F40 (after a long lapse - the last and first installment of Rockbox was in April and I had put in the bootloader file that was required).  Everything worked fine after the update.  I played it all day and had switched the battery switch off and on after the update.

Then today, when I went to update some music files and plugged my F40 to my laptop with the USB cable, all I got was the USB logo (which was unusual).  So I presed the on button of the f40 and got the gigabeat loading screen (and the bar didn't move and after a few seconds I got the SYSTEM ERROR 000000001. I switched the battery off/on hoping that would work..but nope.
The computer doesn't recogntize the F40 and I keep getting the System Error message.

What could have happened????
I don't want to break into it if I can avoid it...I can be clumsy and I am away from home so I don't have the tiny screwdriver or the original software (come to think of it - i don't think I have the originial software anymore!)

HELP!

I would love to fix it before I get on my 12 hour flight on Sunday! :)

I've made a new topic for this question, as you also found out it was only confusing when people reply

soundtravels:
Thank you Markun.  but it looks like i've got people stumped..
 :'(

I just got back home and will try to start it up with the cradle. If that doesn't work I will open it up.

Here's wishing me luck.
