Rockbox with stock car interface..
« on: June 30, 2007, 03:57:29 PM »
Hello,

I was wondering if the Rockbox firmware can work at the same way as the apple firmware when it comes to stock ipod connection to the car stereo.. I have one for a Mercedes and one for a Volvo. They work at the same way. You have 10 playlists (the 9 first playlist on your ipod and a 10 wich is all songs). So when i connect my ipod  it comes up as a 10cd changer, and I push on f.ex cd 1 and it begins to play from playlist 1 and then I can choose songs.. Everything is done via the stereointerface on the car..

So when i connect my rockboxplayer it can play the music but i have to pick songs for myself.. It works normally and the music plays nice, but its not so practically on the mercedes because the player is in the glowcompartment (and not very safe :P).. For the volvo where it is between the seats its ok i guess but i prefer the interface on the wheel..

I have Ipod 80 gb Video with lates rockbox build..

Thx for all the help :)
