Only by changing the source code and re-compiling.

The exception is the Database, where all menus and menu titles can be user-defined. See the link in my sig.

Actually, by editing the language files, you can change any of the translatable text strings in the menus without having to recompile, though you can't change the order/positioning.

I stand corrected   I always assumed the *.lng file was a 'compiled' file that could not be altered...

dogbog, to change it is easy (I've just tried):

I'm assuming you are using english as the language and that you are on Windows

On your device go to the file .rockbox/langs/english.lng file and open it in a suitable editor

Find the string you want to modify, change it and save the file.

To make it take effect, you have to run the language file. In Rockbox, go:

Setting > General Settings > Language and 'play' or select english as the language.

Et voilá, modified menu entries

It's stuff like this that just makes me love Rockbox more...

Maybe, the word 'Files' appears often.

Try again, changing 'Plugins' instead, as that appears only once in the .lng file and so you will definitely know for sure if it has worked

Please also confirm that you did the second bit of my instructions (re-selecting english as the language) as it seems that this is required for the change to take effect.

Oh, and please, no more abbreviated text (u for you etc.), Rockbox has a lot of vision-impaired users who use screen readers to access the website and that makes life much more difficult for them...
