help: cue play
« on: June 28, 2007, 12:18:00 AM »
I am a newbie to Rockbox. I just install Rockbox in my ipod nano today. I learn that the rackbox support cue file. However, I cannot make it work. I put *.flac and *.cue files with the same name in the same folder. And in the cue file, I have indicate the file field to be the correct flac file. However, when I play the flac file, it plays the whole file without any track. When I select the cue file, it always shows the text, and cannot play.

Could anybody tell me how to make it work? thank you.

It would probably help if you could post some/all of the .cue file here so we could see what you've got in it.

Maybe stating the obvious but:

Did you enable cuesheet support and rebooted the player as the manual (chapter 7.1) tells you?

The FILE field in the cuesheet isn't important. What is is that the cue file and the audio file have exactly the same name (except for the extension of course).

Yes, I have already chosen the "yes" option in the "enable cuesheet", and rebooted the device. However, that does not help. After rebooted, when I went into the "enable cuesheet" again, the "no" option is always  highlighted. Perhaps this happens because "no" option is in the first place in the list, I am not sure.

The file names of the *.flac and *.cue are exavtly the same except for the extension.

I want to know exactly how do you guys plays cue file? do you play the flac file, and the cue file will automatically associate with it? or do you need to first choose the cue file and play it?

Thank you.

It should hightlight yes if you have rebooted correctly. I suspect you are resetting (SELECT + MENU), rather than shutting down correctly (Long PLAY) and thus your selection is not being saved.

Thank you, bascule. It was really the reason. Now the cue works fine.
