REPLAYGAIN_REFERENCE_LOUDNESS - does Rockbox need to be aware of this tag?
(1/1)
RowaN:
REPLAYGAIN_REFERENCE_LOUDNESS - does Rockbox need to be aware of this metadata tag in order to assure the correct function of ReplayGain playback? Or does it already take this into account?
I gather that different versions of Foobar use different reference DB value, as do different versions of LAME. Foobar doesnt seem to add this tag when adding ReplayGain tags, but FLAC seems to, in my experience.
Lear:
REPLAYGAIN_REFERENCE_LOUDNESS is not used by Rockbox. In fact, this is the first time I've heard about it. :) ReplayGain scanners should use the 89 dB reference (at least by default), and as long as they do that, Rockbox will do the right volume adjustments.
As far as I know, Foobar and LAME has always used the 89 dB value. And the LAME ReplayGain value isn't used by Rockbox anyway.
