Headphone power drain

Does anyone happen to know if there is output to the headphone jack if you are in the recording screen, and there is NO headphones plugged in?  I would fingure this would drain battery power.

I've split your message and gave it a new thread.
Please keep threads on topic.

And to answer your question: Yes, headphone output is on, and no, I don't think the power drain is significant if there is no load (headphone) attached.

Vortex:
Would there be any power drain at all? I only know basics about electronics and stuff but how could there be a power drain without a closed circuit?

I guess there will be small currents inside the headphone amplifier that play no role, that's why I said not significant ;)

saratoga:
The output stage of your DAC's headphone amp is a second, parallel closed circuit that dissipates some energy even if there is nothing attached.
