JPEG Viewer improvments?
« on: June 26, 2007, 12:32:53 PM »
Hi, I like the JPEG viewer, because you don't have to convert the image to a specefic size, and the ability too zoom in. However I'd like to see some more features.

- more supported formats (like BMP)
- rotating pictures (landscape mode)
- mapping the menu on the "menu" button not the rec button
- maybe format converting
- thumbnail view

That's it so far, what do you think about this stuff?

Thanks in advance, godess.

I'd like PNG support as well.  And thumbnail viewing would be great.

The forums are not the proper place for feature requests. Please be so kind as to follow the guidelines.

What was your point? "Nobody responded to my feature request, so I thought it was okay to ignore the guidelines"?

In all truth, feature requests can sit there for quite some time. If you want something done, you do it. If you're unwilling to learn what's necessary, then your only choice is to wait until someone else takes an interest.

Uhm, yes, I thought when noone answered, that it was totally ignored. Is that a wrong logic?

Dude, there is no reason to get unmannered.

Yes.

So ignoring the posting guidelines is showing good manners?  I thought Llorean's response was polite and well put.

As Llorean said, either wait for someone to do it (in their spare time for free) or bother to do it yourself.

Maybe the guidelines are too strict.

Quite possibly, but surely the thing to do there is to discuss with those in charge (not me) about changing them, rather than ignore them?

Anyone's free to object to the rules, and provide sensible argument as to why they might be better changed.

The appropriate means toward this end is to open a thread in the general discussion forum regarding the rule you have a problem with. Simply breaking the rule is not the appropriate way to get it changed.
