Segmentation fault with the Simulator under VMware

I definitely tested it with ogg vorbis files and I guess also with mp3 files (I'm not completely sure since it's some days ago when I first tested it and today I only repeated the test with ogg files). At the moment I am at work but I will try it this night with different file types and report again.

I presume you are on Windows. gdb (the GNU debugger) comes with Cygwin. Here is a quick tutorial:

Yes I am using Windows XP but as mentioned above, the cygwin version runs without problems. Only the VMware version (Debian Linux) of the simulator crashes. So I must run the debugger in VMware. Are there special instructions for that also?
