[Mini 2G] Unable to list files
« on: June 25, 2007, 08:13:18 AM »
I just successfully installed rockbox on my ipod mini 2g.
I put some mp3 files in a folder (named music) in my / but i cant see it in the Files section.

When i click on Files it looks like something is running in background and then (after 20 - 30 sec) i got   an empty screen.  :-\

What is your Show Files setting set to?

I put it on 'All'. But it didnt change anything. Would 'supported' change something ?

Do you have any clue ?

"All" is more comprehensive than "suppported," but either view will show MP3 files.

How did you put the MP3s on your player?
When you connect your ipod to the computer, can you see the files in the /music directory using your operating system's file browser (in other words, for example, if you are using Windows, can you see those files in Explorer)?

I'm a linux user  ;)
I simply mounted my ipod and copied some mp3 in a folder. Nothing fancy. I can see all the mp3 i copied when i browse the ipod.

There is a small icon on the top right that appears when i click on Files : it looks like a disc... but still nothing  :(

Did you try using fsck.vfat on the device to check for file system errors?

I could do it. but :
1 - the ipod is brand new
2 - it is working perfectly using apple firmware

I dont think there is any bad blocks... I ran it just to be sure and ... nothing
