My original intention was actually to port gnugo eventually, but from the looks of it gnugo has some pretty big memory usage requirements. It might not be an insurmountable problem, but it would probably take a lot of investigation/work. I was hoping that someone had ported gnugo to a mobile device of some sort and had run into the same problems, but I didn't find anything on a quick google.
I'll definitely check into it more though.
Create a patch and upload it to the patch tracker, then nag the devs in IRC to take a look at it. The usefulness of a plugin is usually not a very important criterion. More important is that it runs well on as much targets as possible.
Haha, that's also good. It should work pretty well on just about anything, the only part I haven't looked at much is which keys are going to work well on which platforms, but that shouldn't be too difficult.
