i need help.. system error 00000001

HawkSlayer:
A few nights ago I was listening to my Toshiba Gigabeat F10 MP3 player and I noticed the battery was running out.. so instead of hooking my mp3 player up to my usb cable to charge it.. i decided to see if my portable dvd player charger would work... well, it didn't. the mp3 player turned off. i try to turn it back on and i get a System Error 00000001 message. Also, It keeps telling me to charge it even after I plug the usb cable into it to charge overnight.

I found stuff on the internet and this site that show how to fix this system error message... I followed the instructions on how to do a hot swap but it didn't work.. my computer doesn't read the mp3 player as a drive. It does, however, try to install the drivers for it but comes up and says there was a problem with the installation.. i went into device manager and uninstalled the USB Mass Storage thing and then tried reinstalling it.. same thing.

I contacted Toshiba and told them what was wrong with my mp3 player. They told me to call them but I can't because I can't talk.. I have laryngitis and it is very hard for me to talk.

I'm hoping someone on this forum knows what I should do to get it to work.. I need my pc to recognize it as a drive.

Please Help!

P.S. if this is the wrong location for this type of subject, I apologize!

Edit: Also, I have even tried connecting my mp3 player to my pc with the cradle and it doesn't even connect via the usb mode.

I also think that the reason why my pc won't install the drivers properly is because of rockbox. I am probably wrong though.

AlexP:
So does it even get to the rockbox bootlader before the error, or stop before there?

HawkSlayer:
the loading bar barely moves and hangs for a few and gives me the error.. or if i have the usb cable connected and turn it on the loading bar barely moves and then goes right to the usb logo... did that answer your question? ;x

AlexP:
OK, so it is pre loading Rockbox.  If replacing the OF using the hot swap trick in the wiki didn't work, I don't know I'm afraid.

I take it is has previously worked fine with Rockbox, and did the problem start when you replaced FWIMG01.DAT in order to install rockbox?  If it did previously work fine, did the problem start with you updating the RB bootloader?

Basically what I am getting at is did this problem just appear, or was it when you were updating the rockbox bootloader?

Edit:  You do have rockbox installed right?

HawkSlayer:
i tried the hot swap.. my pc reads the mp3 player and tries to install the drivers for it but fails.. this problem started when i tried charging my mp3 player with my portable dvd player charger. yes, i have rockbox installed on it and it has been working fine.. i haven't had any problems with it.
