Apple charger and odd charging things

(1/1)

Zsan:
I've been meaning to bug you guys about this since I got my iPod. Anyhow:

My Apple Charger works fine. It charges my iPod in Rockbox mode, and it might (I wouldn't know, but I think it does) work as well in Apple Firmware mode. However, Rockbox doesn't seem to realize it's there.

This means that it won't respect other settings I've set for when it's charging. However, it does charge, because most likely, that is hardware based.

This also means that the player constantly reboots (and crashes after a few times - lol) when Rockbox decides to shut down, and the player deciding to turn on since it's being powered anyway.

It does correctly recognize USB charge, but I prefer my wall outlet, of course.

Any tips?

BTW: It's in a Dock, but I don't think it matters.

LambdaCalculus:
My iPod video charges in Rockbox when I plug it into the Apple Wall Charger, and I stand it up in the dock; this is my common setup at work. When I'm going to shut off the iPod, I just click the hold switch and let it reboot into the Apple firmware to charge for a while.

So if you're going to do the same, just click the hold switch when you shut down Rockbox, and click it when "Shutting Down..." is on the screen. (Don't worry, no harm will come of doing it that way!)

Zsan:
Sorry, what are you trying to say?

LambdaCalculus:
Sorry, coffee hasn't kicked in 100%.

I was trying to say that you can charge while using Rockbox. But if you're going to shut down your iPod to charge it from the OF, just click the hold switch while it's shutting down, so it can boot back into the OF immediately.
