anyway this is exaclte what i do.
1.) install winff
2.)open required file
3.)open preset XML file
4.)delete everything in that file
.5)replace with everything on replacment  file
6.) start winff (i get errors i have  to unistall)

there is a option to convert the file to mpeg but video only that works but i have no audio.when i try without replaceing the file the converted file doesnt start on my ipod

Just delete the old.xml file, and put the new one in its place...

to answeer your question yes it does play on my ipod. wvm(windows media) files when converted DO NOT WORK, you may need to make a note of that. as of when i convert quicktime files it works perfectly. so, im only gona convert quicktime files for now on. thanks to all that of tried to help me. my problem has been solved.
