Won't play music from a certain artist

I sync my 5G 60 gig video ipod using itunes and then it won't play music from the artist "the b foundation" no matter what i do, the name will not come up on the list of artists anywhere on the ipod. I don't know how many other songs may be like this also on my ipod. I deleted all of my album artwork to see if that was the problem, and ive re-initialized my ipod numerous times.  
Please help me figure this one out.

is the music in a rockbox readable format?
also are the files taged? because itunes wites the informations about artist and so on in the appledb on your ipod....

Yeah, I would suggest going through your files with a proper tagging program to make sure that they are tagged properly.  Apple has sought a less and less standard way of doing things lately.  Another example is album art.  They used to store it in the ID3 tag, but now it gets stored in some database.  This makes iTunes managed music non-portable.

Rockbox cannot decrypt DRMed music.  If you bought music through iTunes then you will need to listen to that through the Apple firmware.

I don't know what the current state of affairs is.  I know that there have been cracks in the past.  But since I don't have music from the iTunes store I have not had to deal with this.  Anyway, since this isn't Rockbox supported it's not really appropriate for these forums.  I'm sure you can find some info on this via your favorite search engine.

But it is possible that your music wasn't showing up in the Rockbox database because it's in .m4p format (protected AAC).

Whether there is or isn't is irrelevant - the Rockbox forum posting guidelines forbid discussion of any ways to circumvent DRM.

Unless those ways involve "upgrading" your DRM infested files to double-bitrate DRM-free ones from EMI through iTunes...
