cannot play movie on h300

After a lot of gnashing of teeth, I finally got Rock Box to work on my H300.  I downloaded Elephant's Dream and even made a video of my own following the parameters but I still cannot get a movie to play.
I see it in the folder, I click on it, and an mp3 song from my database plays.  I then try and "open with" mpeg and it gives me an error in the upper left hand corner *panic* stkov main...and i'm frozen until i click the on button and it reboots itself.

Any ideas?

Which SVN revision are you running?

What version number is your Rockbox? This can be found under the System option in the first menu.

And when you just click on the Elephant's Dream (you don't need to open with), what happens?

i get a black screen and in small writing in the upper left hand corner wording that says "*panic* stkov main"
I then can hit the on button and it reboots itself.
I does this over and over.

Try moving your .rockbox folder off the player, and installing a 100% clean build from the current build page, instead of overwriting an old one, and see if that helps.

I did as you suggested and I still get the same result.
Everything else seems to be working fine.
Does anyone else have this problem?
It would be so cool to have video on this device.

The stkov error is a known problem, and appears to have started a few weeks ago on at least the H300 and H100 players.

A workaround seems to be to create an empty text file in the .rockbox/rocks/ folder on your H300 called "mpegplayer.cfg".

For those interested, this was discussed in IRC yesterday (19th June), starting at 21.22.37 in the logs.
