h320: battery draining while off/poor battery life
« on: June 17, 2007, 09:15:44 AM »
Folks,

I recently acquired a 'refurbished' h320 from ebay.

I'd only had it a couple of days before I replaced the battery with a 2200mah battery I'd been using in one of my h120s.  The battery had been working fine in the h120.

However, I've since noticed my h320 gets extremely poor battery runtime and drains while off.  Going by the rockbox battery meter I'd estimate it loses about 10%-15% per day without switching the unit on.  Charging via USB only charges sufficiently to barely maintain battery levels...(ie if battery levels are at 50%, I charge via USB for a day, levels might get to 52%).

Unfortunately I did not use the unit with the original battery sufficiently to notice any draining.

I assume this is a hardware issue, though I've not yet had a chance to definitively rule out firmware.

I figured I'd post here first to see if anyone had encountered/resolved similar issues before spending some time testing/switching batteries back and forth.  I've noticed a few people have had similar issues over at misticriver (http://misticriver.net/showthread.php?t=39528), but couldn't find any answers. Would appreciate any input.

Thanks for your time.
