Screen goes black when trying to view videos (was: MOVIES HELP)

I put movies on my ipod nano. When i go to file browser they are there. But when i start them the screen goes black then it returns to my first screen. I want to watch my movie but I can't. Please help me.

- All my movies are MPEG

If you are using the newest build and bootloader, what are you encoding the files with?

Since he has the same problem with the sample videos, I don't think encoding is his problem.

I'm having the same problem with my h340. The screen goes black and displays "*PANIC* Stkov main"; I'm using the current build, trying to watch elephant's dream.

AFAIK that's a known issue with the h3x0. Quoted from another thread:

The stkov error is a known problem, and appears to have started a few weeks ago on at least the H300 and H100 players.

A workaround seems to be to create an empty text file in the .rockbox/rocks/ folder on your H300 called "mpegplayer.cfg".

For those interested, this was discussed in IRC yesterday (19th June), starting at 21.22.37 in the logs.
