It would be possible to playback a previous recording while recording, but I fear the little CPU in there won't handle it all (it might). It's not true multitrack but then again, it's only an mp3 player, not an expensive multitrack recorder ;)

The whole topic has sence only if we can find a low noise hardware.

In this case (otherwise it will be just a multi-noise toy) you can easily synchronise few of them into one array and the deal is done.

Do you know a low-noise inline recorder?
